The newest release of Android only means one thing: getting impatient over when you phone will receive it. The newest version of Android, called the Nougat comes with many upgraded features.

For starters, it comes with necessary cosmetic changes like on-screen buttons. It comes with added multitasking features like multi-screen built in, which was only available to Samsung Galaxy lineup at first.

Android 7.0 also comes with quick switching between apps. You only have to double tap the recent apps button on screen to switch between apps. The notifications have been bundled together, and most of the texts you receive can be replied from the notification tray itself.

Perhaps the most important feature of Android Nougat is the inclusion of Google Assistant, which is a step up from Google Now. The newest mobile assistant shows even greater dexterity, adapting to user preferences quickly and showing outputs preferred by the user.

So how will you ever get the Android 7.0 (or 7.1) up and running in your smartphone?

Reports suggest that a Nougat update for the S7 and S7 Edge is already underway, and would be available for download in Q4 this year or by Q1 2017. The 2015's Note flagship, the Note 5 is also in line to get the update sometime next year. As per rumors, Galaxy S8 would ship with Android Nougat 7.1 out of the box.

For HTC, the story is a little different.

HTC as we know, was quick to release the Android Marshmallow on its devices, and this time it has to deliver the updates quickly, for HTC's newest flagship the HTC 10 is up against Android heavyweights.

This year HTC is rumored to be making the Nexus phones, and therefore has more access to Nougat. Having said that, you can expect your HTC flagship to be rocking the newest update by December 2016 or January 2017.

Other handsets like the HTC One M10, the HTC One M9, and the HTC One A9 would also receive the OTA update for Android Nougat.

So hold onto your watches and closely monitor the official release dates for Android Nougat on HTC and Samsung flagships. The newest version of android cannot simply be missed.
