Apple iPhone 8 To Have Glass Body And High-End Specs
Apple iPhone 8 will be one the most spectacular launches world would be waiting for compared to its peer launches. We are expecting a paradigm shift in the phone specs and features compared to iPhone 7. The phenomenal launch of iPhone 7 in September '16 has continued the tradition of garnering exponential sales. Apple is believed to show case its new IPhone 8, as usual, in September 2017.
As reported by Nikkei Asian Review, Apple is likely to launch 3 size variants - 4.7", 5" & 5.5". The 5.5" variant will be a premium model with sporty glass back and curvy display. The report further states that the premium model boasts with a OLED display, while the other two models may be manufactured with LCD screens as seen in iPhone 7.
It is rumored that the 5.5" glass back model orders may be given to China's Biel Crystal Manufactory and Lens Technology and keeping other two model orders with Foxconn as per the supply chain sources. But the final designs are not freeze yet and there is always room for Apple to retreat to its popular metallic body models. Apple is eager to retain its slim 4.7" model that can easily fit in anyone's pocket in price and size.
Apple is facing criticism for lack of technical advancements in its latest model, iPhone 7. This can be seen as iPhone sales are dwindling, hurting Apple's profits. It has been argued that iPhone 7 sales figures may not catch up to the numbers of IPhone 6 models, despite much fanfare. With many new entrants stealing Apple's share, Apple has to reinvent and invest into new technologies to regain its lost glory, market share, sales & profit numbers.
2017 being the 10th anniversary of Apple, we can expect some great improvements in features and functionality in iPhone 8. As per MacRumours.com, Edge-to-Edge display, Wireless charging, Dual Camera, Touch ID without home button are some of new features iPhone 8 is to be packed with. However, officially, Apple so far has not stimulated its fans with any information on specs or features.
