'Star Wars Episode VIII': Same Imperial Guards, Brand New Avatar
Star Wars Episode VIII isn't set to hit theaters until December of 2017. Thus, fans are dying to get their hands on any piece of information about the film that could make the long wait bearable. Here it is folks, spoiler alerts on the way.
When The Force Awakens was introduced, viewers got to see the modern version of the empire. Much of the same weapons were used, even the design of the ship and Stormtrooper gear was basically the same. Three decades later the creative team finally decided to come up with the much-needed changes which have been long overdue in the first place, according to IBTimes.
The Force Awakens and the next film won't go through any time gaps this time and you can pretty much expect the same get up from our soldiers. However, a few alterations will be made as noted by Making Star Wars. Both the Imperial Guards and Imperial Gunners will have their new avatar in episode 8. Some soldiers of the First Order will also enjoy a bit of an upgrade.
There are rumors that one Stormtrooper in the upcoming film will have a weapon with the similar handle and will be known as The Executioner. A black line can be noticed running on the side of his head gear and this covers half of his mask. The handle weapon consists of three spinning blades which span out. Each blade comes with a spherical device and ends with spikes.
The First Order Imperial Guards will now be wearing a strange-looking visor, some under armor, cuffed sleeves, and additional armor underneath their robes. The First Order soldiers and their helmet will be similar to the one used in The Force Awakens. Only, the mouthpiece was changed to mimic the one featured in the original trilogy.
There. Hopefully, there would be more tidbits of info they'd be kind enough to leak in the coming months since December 2017 is still a long way off. Until then, we'll be patiently waiting.
