'Empire' is back on Fox after a two-week hiatus to reveal Lyon family is starting to crumble from all the backstabbing and lies. Aired on Nov. 2, Episode 5 of 'Empire' had bloodthirsty Shine hound after the Lyon family.

Here's a recap of Episode 5 of 'Empire.'

Shine (Xzibit) opens Episode 5 with vengeance as he says, "Let's go kill some Lyons." Loaded with guns, he and his men pile into an SUV to attack the Lyon clan.

Lucious (Terrence Howard) is well aware of Shine's vindictive motives, so he takes extra precautions by having everyone in his family surrounded by guards. He even drives Anika (Grace Gealey) to show up for the baby's doctor appointment in a bulletproof car.

Meanwhile, Shine reaches Jamal's (Jussie Smollet) studio to attack Andre (Trai Byers). Shine points a gun to Andre's face but the bullet gets jammed in the first attempt. Shine tries for the second time, but when he is about to fire, Nessa (Sierra McClain) runs into the room to save Andre. Shine notices Nessa is half-dressed and immediately asks he if she has been sleeping with Andre. When Nessa doesn't answer, Shine gets mad at her for hooking up with Andre and tells her about his fight with Andre. Nessa says she had no idea about the fight and somehow convinces Shine not to kill Andre. As Shine's men take Nessa out of the room, Shine abandons his murder mission for the moment but warns Andre that this time he got saved due to Nessa's presence but next time he would not be spared.

Andre, Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), Jamal, Lucious and Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) meet where Lucious tells them about his and Andre's fight with Shine. In the meantime, Hakeem and Jamal perform at the live stream but the viewing numbers have gone downhill. However, numbers pick up when Hakeem does freestyle versing, taking jabs at Andre and Jamal when Hakeem finds from Lucious that Andre has been sleeping around with his crush, Nessa. A huge argument breaks out between the boys with the camera rolling and live streaming everything, but Lucious doesn't intervene as the viewing numbers are picking up.

Later, Lucious holds a meeting with Shine and Andre in which Lucious okays Shine's choice to work with Freda Gatz (Bre-Z). The episode ends with Tariq (Morocco Omari) trying to get Shine to turn against Lucious. He asks Shine if Lucious had any part to play in Frank Gathers' (Chris Rock) death.
