Resident Evil 7: Biohazard may release even earlier than we thought. Recent leaks suggest that the date has jumped from January 24th to January 1st, 2017.

This particular release date news popped up on the SteamDB page. It implies that the release has been shifted to an earlier date, that is Jan 1st. However, this might just be another Demo. Before the release, Capcom has been teasing the game with a lot of VR demos. Who is to say this won't be another one? There are also chances for it to be an error from the website.
What you see below is a person playing a VR demo of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard on a PlayStation. This is from the PlayStation Access YouTube channel.

Last month, Capcom released a number of video shorts in the Resident evil YouTube channel, it is much the same as a teaser. The videos are demos of how the gameplay works in the 7th edition of the game. Each of them had a Title as well as an episode number. A few more of these videos have been uploaded recently.
Right below is a Vol 5 episode that was recently uploaded.

The game will release in Japan Christened Biohazard 7: Resident Evil. Compatible with VR, Resident Evil 7 is scheduled for a consistent gameplay with Xbox, PlayStation. The PC Release Date is not committed yet.

The release date alteration is not an established with certainty from Capcoms end. Be that as it may, we can say that a launch in January is confirmed. This is a return of a giant with a new set of Characters, Story and better Gameplay. If the release is a suggested in accordance with the leak, that means the fans are about to go through the most horrific, creepy, gruesome and gory New years.
