Overwatch Sombra Review: New Hero, New UE

In the latest overwatch panel on Friday details were shared about the design of Sombra and her tactics while playing.

Her machine pistol has a large magazine although it is not depicted doing lots of damage. Earlier Sombra's Hack abilities could affect other players as they were prevented from using their abilities and she was having a health pack which could not be used by the enemies.

She can hack the Torbjorn's turrets. Though these turrets cannot be damaged or taken control of but it shuts them down for a while and it becomes very easy to destroy them.

Her passive opportunist helps her viewing the enemies through the walls who are below 50 percent health. With the help of her Thermo-optic Camo, she is completely invisible to the enemies. In fact, there is no shimmer to give her away.

Blizzard says that the idea of Sombra ended being used for Hanzo and Genji. Hanzo ended up with Sombra having a double jump, throwing knives and even dagger and this would reveal the nearby enemies. Genji was a slow moving stealth character who was known to backstab the enemies.

Later the look of Sombra was hooded to have too similar a silhouette to that of Ana. Finally, Sombra has been depicted with a cyber punk look.

Her abilities are similar to what were seen in the trailers. EMP makes a blast around her destroying barriers and shields while hacking the nearby enemies.

During the opening event of BizzCon the company rolled out a video of the launch of Overwatch and there were some technical issues in the video. There was a little introduction to Sombra in a film featuring her as a Widowmaker and a Reaper where she could infiltrate the top secret facility.

The in-game abilities of Sombra have not been revealed as yet. You can also see new maps on the way including Oasis and Arcades which will host new game modes.
