OnePlus 3T Release Imminent, OnePlus 4 Rumored To Release In The Summer Of 2017
The OnePlus 3T was leaked earlier in November as the "more capable" OnePlus 3. It was speculated that the phone would be a complete new phone titled OnePlus 4, but OnePlus decided to improve upon the existing formula to keep up with the recent flagships. As of now, there are many rumors surrounding the OnePlus 4 on the internet.
The OnePlus 3T for example, as per the leaks, would be having a better processor, a better camera and a better battery, according to Chinese website Weibo. To keep itself updated with the recent Google Pixel and Pixel XL, OnePlus 3T is going to be equipped with a Snapdragon 821 chipset and a massive 6GB of RAM like its predecessor.
The phone would also get updated design elements. OnePlus 3 is a fairly good looking phone, and this time around, people can get the Jet Black version of OnePlus 3T. The 3T would also be getting a reworked screen.
What really sets OnePlus at a position marginally low than other bigger companies is its phone display. This is going to change with the 3T. It is rumored the 3T will be having a QHD display. The 3T is also rumored to come with LCD display instead of OLED because of imminent shortages of OLED displays in the supply chain.
The 3T is also going to get better camera specs, with a Sony IMX 398 on its back, and it is also possible for the phone to debut with two camera modules on its back, as is the norm with the recent iPhone 7. The 3T can also be expected to come in 64GB and 128GB variants, and the phone will be getting a bigger and better battery at 3,300 mAh.
According to multiple leaks in the industry, the 3T could cost $80 more than the current OnePlus 3, which makes it retail at around $480, which is still very reasonable compared to Google Pixel and Pixel XL.
As for the OnePlus 4, however, reports suggested that the phone would have to best the 3T. OnePlus has expressed concerns about this, as the 3 was an already good phone with the 3T improving upon it, so with the OnePlus 4, the margin of improvement would be very less.
Still, the 4 is rumored to come with a Snapdragon 830 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 64/128/256GB onboard storage with a massive 21MP camera. The phone might also come with a QHD display like the 3T and also a better battery and a headphone jack. As for the price, it will be comparable to the 3T or maybe slightly more.
If that is the case, then OnePlus 4 would be the phone to watch out for in the summer of 2017. As of now, people would have to stay content with the 3T.
