‘Mission: Impossible 6’ Will Release In Summer 2018
Tom Cruise will be back as Ethan Hunt in 'Mission: Impossible 6' in 2018. Paramount Pictures has scheduled the release of the film for July 27, 2018.
Just before the opening of the previous franchise, 'Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation,' Cruise had announced in July 2015 that he had plans to come back with 'Mission: Impossible 6.' Paramount Pictures vice chairman Rob Moore strongly endorsed Cruise's announcement as well saying that the studio is very happy developing 'Mission: Impossible 6' with the actor, following a $121 million global opening weekend for 'Rogue Nation' with $56 million in the US and another $65 million from 40 percent international markets.
Cruise then promised in April at Cinemacon that the super spy Ethan Hunt will be back for more global espionage and gravity-defying world saving. He also revealed that the filming of 'Mission: Impossible 6" will begin next fall with 'Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation' director and co-writer, Christopher McQuarrie returning for yet another adventure.
Cruise said at Cinemacon that in 'Mission: Impossible 6,' there will be "...more incredible set pieces, stunts...and what I think is a very entertaining and compelling story."
Cruise then closed the deal in September for 'Mission: Impossible 6,' which is being produced and financed by Paramount Pictures along with partner, Skydance Productions, headed by David Ellison. Cruise is also a producer in the film.
"Rogue Nation" grossed $195 million domestically and $682 million worldwide. Paramount has decided to opt for the same July slot for the release of 'Mission: Impossible 6' akin to 'Rogue Nation.'
The previously released five "Mission: Impossible" films starring Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt has grossed a combined $2.8 million at the worldwide box office. Cruise also produced 'Rogue Nation' along with J.J Abrams, Bryan Burk, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger.
