'Westwold' Episode 6 Latest News & Updates: Decoding Bulk Apperception

Westworld episode 6 definitely gave its fans an exciting story that left them at the edge of their seats. Then again, most of them are probably scratching their heads as well, wondering what on earth 'bulk apperception' meant.

In the final scene, viewers find Maeve wanting her codes altered by her technicians. This, after she finds out that she was merely created in a laboratory for the indulgence and entertainment of humankind. She wanted both pain and loyalty attributes to be turned down, but her 'bulk apperception' turned all the way up to the highest notch.

So, do you have any idea what that means? You have to if you plan to understand her character in the succeeding episodes. So the term 'apperception' started with Descartes and was later developed by Kant. It's basic definition means 'introspective self-consciousness'. Still confusing?

This is the process of understanding something based on past experience. Based on Dagobert D. Runes 1942 Dictionary of Philosophy, it is the process by which new experience is assimilated to and transformed by the residuum of past experience of an individual to form a new whole, as published by Independent.

It can then be safely assumed that our dear Maeve is trying to hold on to the past. The info she just got wind of and that of her earliest history. In the past episode fans also found out that hosts' memories weren't being wiped clean. It's just their codes are overwritten. This is the reason why Maeve has flashbacks of her life prior to her being the head of a brother. This was a time she desperately wanted to keep in her memory.  Of course, she would, who would want to have the faintest recall of their bitter past, right?
