iOS 10.2 Beta Version Brings Back Star Ratings To Apple Music App: Why And How?
Apple had just launched iOS 10 and is quick to come with updates. At the infant stage now is iOS 10.2 with its beta version just released. Apple has come out with the trailer showing the features likely to surface in the new version, and it comes out to be good news.
Music App
There have been serious changes in the music app. The software update of ios 10 had removed the star rating of the songs in the iTunes.
The users suffered from a bit of dismay because star rating was not helpful in sending feedbacks about the quality of music but also in sorting the songs. On popular users demand, this feature is brought back.
However, it will be optional, and the accessibility is not easy. The user has to tap on the share icon which will pop an action sheet. The user can then select rate song. The star ratings shall have no effect on the songs suggested for you.
The shuffle and repeat button were previously well hidden. It was visible only when swiped down. The options now are however well visible on the home screen of the music app.
Emergency Calls
The coolest addition is the feature of emergency number calling. It allows the user to directly call the emergency services when they press the power button rapidly for five consecutive times without dialing he number directly. Nevertheless, this feature is a default one which can otherwise be removed.
Added Emojis
A wide variety of new Emojis is included in the version. The users have now options of a new sideways laughing face, clown faces, butterfly, bacon, person taking a selfie and hosts of others.
TV App
The TV app has come with a host of new additions. The options that are now accessible include single sign in and a store where one can buy subscriptions from iTunes or TV shows. It also comes with recommendations for new shows and a video widget to directly access the saved videos. It also has a live tune in with Siri.
Other Features and the Essence So Far
It comes with three new wall papers and a celebration messages screen option. The camera settings can be preserved. It means that when the user opens the camera app, the last saved settings appear as default. The home screen button can be customized to directly access the "Press and Hold To Speak" option. The status bar comes up with a headphone icon to connect directly to the nearby Bluetooth enabled audio devices.
The newly added features are however still in their beta version. There is no guarantee that they will persist through till the actual release. However, the users can also expect more new features and an upgrade might seem mandatory.
