Steep, an extreme sports video game is an upcoming video game from Ubisoft Annecy. It will be published by Ubisoft for Xbox One, PS4, and Windows. This game emphasizes on multiplayer gaming and also focuses on completion of various challenges of winter sports with other online players.

Gameplay and Features

Steep is extreme winter sports game set in the mountain Alps. Players are free to explore the open world and can be played as either a first person or a third person.

The game has four activities like Paragliding, Wingsuit Flying, Snowboarding and Skiing among which player can switch using the wheel.

Steep allow all players to share the same world in the game besides engaging simultaneously in different sports. Players can even collide with other players using collide feature.

Various challenges, hidden races, secret areas exist in the game and players can unlock them only by exploring the world. Mountain mode allows players to navigate quickly.

This mode contains drop zones which serve as travel points and allows players to reach different zones in the game quickly. A pair of binoculars is given to players to discover new regions in the game world.

Play Styles

As per the developer, the game has four play style types. Explorer style emphasizes to explore new locations and challenges, while Bone Collector style honors players for performing crashing and stunts. Freestyle type focuses on accuracy and precision of tricks. The last style called Free Rider is a blend of all the above three play styles.

Steep allow gamers to perform special tricks such as spinning, grabbing during skiing and snowboarding with the help of a trick system. Depending on the player's performance they will get rewards and bonus points.

Inbuilt features like rewind, pause, and replay allow gamers to view their performance and to take screenshots. Replays can be posted across gaming communities and networking sites.  When a player participates in tough sports, then a trail of it gets recorded automatically. A player can even challenge other players by sharing their path.

Steep-Beta Release

Steep's beta release consists of three different regions to explore namely Needles, Aravis, and Tyrol. These three areas contain nine challenges for the players.

One among these focuses on death-defying stunts. Another is emphasizing on the terrain. The last one is about trick accuracy. If you purchase Steep, then you get seven regions each with different challenges and experiences.

All you need to get the beta version is to just to download the game from the developer site and signup for the beta version. Ubisoft planned to roll out two waves of beta release. November 10 release was only for those who registered already. This testing will end on November 14.

The second beta release is open for all and can be downloaded on to PC or any gaming console. This release starts from November 18 and lasts until November 21.

Should You Miss The Thrill?

Definitely not! Steep is the last game that Ubisoft will release this year. It is a self-developed game by Ubisoft. On December 2, 2016, the full version of Steep is set to breeze out into the market.
