Largest Hack Ever In Adult FriendFinder.: Over 400 Million User Information Compromised
Touted as the "largest adult dating and chatting site" AdultFriendFinder.com, a part of the FriendFinder network was a part of the biggest hack ever in the history. The popular dating site of the United States had had the massive hack ever in its history compromising the user information of up-to 20 years to today, says reports.
Second Such Incident of the Year
The hack has compromised the information of over 400 million users says reports from the breach notification website Leaked Source. The company is also reported to be facing second such incident after the first hack on April, 2016. It is also reported that the hack occurred through a Local File Inclusion exploit.
FriendFinder Networks are investigating the breach
FriendFinder Networks said that the company has been into investigating the situation, though it did neither confirm nor deny the hack. In their statement to the Washington Post they have stated that "Immediately upon learning this information, we took several steps to review the situation and bring in the right external partners to support our investigation."
Users worry public exposure
Users of Penthouse, Stripshow, iCams under the FriendFinder network are also affected by this breach. The hack could see email addresses, passwords, and dates of last visits, browser information, IP addresses and site membership status across the sites exposed. If the users have linked the accounts to other websites their details shall be visible on those sites as well.
Users are worried that their personal details and account history could be leaked and published online. An interesting fact from this hack is that the hack includes 5,650 .gov email addresses and 78,301 .mil email addresses registered on the hacked websites.
Diana Lynn Ballou, the VP and Senior Counsel of Corporate Compliance and Litigation at FriendFinder, says "If we confirm that a security incident did occur, we will work to address any issues and notify any customers that may be affected."
