Oculus Rift Makes The VR Dreams Of PC Gamers A Reality: VR For Low-End Pcs
Finally, for all those gaming fans who have been waiting for a VR that will run even on lower end PCs, Oculus Rift comes as a savior. Oculus Rift has been made compatible with low-end PCs by its makers leaving gamers in joy that VR is nor within their reach.
PC users have been waiting a moment when at least one VR headset in the market shall be compatible with the PC models with low specs. Oculus Rift' makers came up with their latest innovation making VR available even in PCs on the lower end of the spectrum. Gamers are finally happy that their VR dream has come true.
ASW and ATW technologies made VR for Low-end PCs Possible
According to reports from PC Gamer, PC users have been waiting to have their hands on the VR headset Oculus Rift that can work in PCs. The company is positive that its VR headsets can change the platform with Asynchronous Facewarp (ASW). This new technology will help Rift's compatibility with listed PCs.
The ASW technology allows VR titles to run even on 45 HZ which was earlier allowed only at 90 HZ. Oculus Rift also introduced Asynchronous Timewarp (ATW) earlier this year. With the help of ASW and ATW technologies, the VR headset is now compatible with a wider range of PCs.
The Hardware Requirements
Facebook, the makers of Oculus said "The hardware requirements for ASW are modest. This functionality has been enabled on all current- generation AMD GPUs (RX 400 series) and previous- or current- generation Nvidia GPUs (GTX 900 or 1000 series)."
The Oculus Rift VR headsets require NVIDIA 960 or a better graphics card powered by an Intel i3-6100 or an AMD FX4350 CPU with a RAM capacity of at least 8 GB or more. Oculus Rift is compatible with all PCs running on Windows 8 or higher versions.
VR dreams of PC gamers come true
Reports suggest that ASW will automatically be integrated even if the hardware requirements are compatible Oculus Rift's technology pre-requisites for it to work well on a PC. However, PCs fulfilling the aforementioned requirements will enhance the headset's performance.
Players will finally enjoy VR under the affordable price of Oculus VR headsets at around $500.
