John Legend Wife Chrissy Teigen Responds To American Music Awards 2016 Controversy
John Legend's wife Chrissy Teigen wasn't expecting her appearance at the American Music Awards 2016 to attract controversy. However, this is exactly what happened when she found herself in a compromising situation - in front of the cameras.
The former Victoria Secret model wore a dress with a slit so high, nothing was apparently left to the imagination. Although a safety pin tried to keep the slit in place, the paparazzi still managed to get a glimpse and snap photos of her private parts.
John Legend's wife, however, seemed unperturbed by the hullabaloo created by her wardrobe malfunction, according to the Independent. In fact, Chrissy Teigen, who is married to John Legend since 2013, still managed to handle her American Music Awards 2016 appearance with grace, as she, later on, took to her Instagram account to apologize for the faux pas.
"Apologies to anyone harmed mentally or physically by my hooha," she wrote. "Dress is Yousef Akbar and shoes are Dsqaured2 and laser hair removal is SEV Laser Aesthetics," she added. The 39-year-old American model was tasked to introduce her hubby prior to his performance at the AMA.
It was a touching intro and tribute to the Grammy-award winner but was laced with censored remarks against President-elect Donald Trump. She began her spiel by saying, "So this next performer is a brilliant musician and a wonderful father, who makes a pretty d**n good breakfast sandwich."
In taking a swipe at the president of the United States during the American Music Awards 2016, John Legend's wife Chrissy Teigen said, "But his songs are bigger than either of us. And on the heels on what's been a really interesting f***ed up, f***ing election for all of us," adding, "I think we could all use a little love tonight."
In the meantime, the "All of Me" singer explained that he and his wife were very careful that the gown she wore didn't offend people's sensibilities, reported Mail Online. However, a photographer covering the AMA still managed to get a vulnerable shot of the ex-Sports Illustrated model.
The multi-awarded crooner pointed out that "if a photographer is resourceful enough they can find that one moment' out of the ordinary," reported the Daily Mail. The appearance of John Legend's wife Chrissy Teigen at the American Music Awards 2016 will surely be remembered for a long time.
