Two popular brands have launched their flagship products in last two months. OnePlus has introduced to latest sleek killer smartphone OnePlus 3T (OP3T) and the tech giant, Google has first time given birth to its own make flagship smartphone-Pixel. The review takes a closer match between the two smartphones and yet highlights the key differentiator that helps readers to pick the best for them.
Design:
Both built in with a uni-metal body and glossy finish. OP3T outshines with a fancy gun metal finish casing, Pixel mimics Apple iPhone 7 in some angles. OP 3T is a sleekly designed phone with 5.5" AMOELD display(401), while Pixel is 5" AMOLED screen with higher pixel density(441).
Hardware:
Technically both smartphones are equipped with the same processor. OP3T edges higher with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core 2.35 GHz processor, as per CNET. On the other hand, Pixel seconds with Snapdragon 821 quad-core 2.2 GHz processor. OP3T beefed with 6GB RAM and 64/128GB storage options, whereas Pixel has only 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. But, both are having limitations by not proving slot for Micro SD card.
Operating System:
Pixel scores higher by flaunting its latest Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box, whereas OP3T disappoints with Android 6.1 Marshmallow. Since Pixel is a Google smartphone and any updates on Android will be received first on Google Pixel than other brands. Hence, Pixel edges out OP3T on upgrades.
Camera:
This is another lagging area for OP3T, though it sports higher numbers. The rear & front camera flash with 16MP but Pixel comes with rear camera of 12.3MP and front of 8MP. Pixel outsmarts OP3T with its auto-focus and electronic image stabilizer. The images are best shot in Pixel in 1080p, along with impeccable 4K video recording. Pictures of OP3T can hardly be comparable to Pixel, which are much less grainy and vibrant.
Price:
This is where OP3T aloof to a higher position. OP3T is just priced at $450, whereas Pixel comes at a premium price of $650. At that price, there are other Android phones in Samsung, LG, and HTC with much better specs and display.
So, people with a smaller budget, OnePlus 3T is the killer choice, offering unbeatable specs and features in that price range
