Kanye West’s Paranoia Will Leave Him Hospitalized Indefinitely
Kanye West's paranoia will apparently leave the rapper hospitalized indefinitely. His family was hoping he could be released on Monday but now West reportedly will have to remain at UCLA Medical Center for an unspecified amount of time.
As cited by Newsday, 39-year-old West was still unstable on Monday one week after being admitted. He was reportedly placed on involuntary psychiatric hold. During his hospital stay, West reportedly suffered from paranoia. He forbade doctors from touching him. He said people were out to destroy his marriage to reality star Kim Kardashian.
A source tells ET that he pushed himself too much. Even though the Paris incident unsettled everyone, it made the greatest impact on him. He was anxious that everyone was trying to get him. He had severe paranoia over nothing real or tangible. He was thinking people were out to kill him and destroy his marriage.
The source added that West tried to take on everything and everyone tried to calm him down and he didn't. He didn't sleep and the hallucinations came in with the lack of sleep and everything was heightened. It was difficult to differentiate what was real and what was manifested by his anxiousness. He couldn't acknowledge what was happening in real life.
Doctors Reluctant To Give Diagnosis
Meanwhile, even though West wants and is trying to get better, ET noted that his doctors were reluctant to diagnose anything. This is because mental disorder cannot be diagnosed after merely one hospital visit. Instead, the person's behavior has to be observed over the course of a specific time frame.
Despite this, fans can expect that Kanye won't change who he is. The source tells ET you're still going to get the unfiltered Kanye. the one who goes on crazy rants and jumps onstage during VMAs. He's just overworked, dehydrated, and sleep deprived. He just lost himself and needed to recharge.
