First, it was announced that "Star Wars: Episode 8" had not yet confirmed a final title to the installment. Next, 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story's" trailer lacked any significant giveaways for what the fans can expect upon its release this weekend. Now, Adam Driver has revealed that a trailer for the eighth installment may not be released... or will there be?

Will Disney Release A Trailer?

Adam Driver, one of the actors to partake a role in the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode 8" movie which will release next year, he revealed that Disney may not release a trailer for the installment. While promoting his upcoming film "Silence," Driver said that the fewer people would know about what to expect for the movie, the better its performance will be, reported Slash Film. Will the producers and Disney follow through with the actor's suggestion?

Although the idea was recognized by the source as a good one, it was revealed that the huge budget movie like "Star Wars: Episode 8" may push through with a trailer. Trailers were said to be a good marketing move for movies that wish to top the box office. In fact, when "The Force Awakens" was near release in theaters, director JJ Abrams tried to reprimand Disney not to reveal too much on what the fans could expect by the time it would appear on-screen. However, a trailer was still released to the public.

What We Know So Far

Furthermore, trailers were also considered to be huge momentum builders for some movies of this year. As reported by Screen Crush, a takeaway had already been released for "Star Wars: Episode 8" which was that most of the main characters from "The Force Awakens" would retain their role. Given the spoiler, it was discussed that since the franchise was a big enough production and has a strong fan base, it could worry less about hitting the profits for the movie. In fact, it was revealed that fans could easily storm the movie houses without any trailer before it shows. However, it was still suggested that Disney could release a trailer as this would be mandatory for the marketing department to drive sales up particularly when such strategy worked quite well for "The Force Awakens."

With a trailer or not, "Star Wars: Episode 8" was said to share the same success in box office hits as that of "The Force Awakens" and the upcoming "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" which was also predetermined to top movie sales.
