‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' To Follow ‘The Force Awakens’ Box Office Success

 Although "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" has not released in theaters yet, Peter Debruge had already suggested that the movie has already been a success with generous reviews. In fact, the box office hits were already predetermined for the spinoff to earn around at least $150 million.

Labeled as the first installment of the Star Wars franchise to show without the famous Skywalker family and the first spinoff to arrive on-screen, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" had already received positive reviews which suggested a huge success upon its release in theaters. The Star Wars franchise had been deemed to be the best-known and most beloved brands in film and the upcoming movie was also lodged as the most-awaited of all fans - something that would extend the world of Star Wars.

Also, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will be the first installment to the franchise which would expand its cinematic universe. In fact, it was said to be the possible source for standalone adventures, mashups, and prequels like a Han Solo standalone film that's being created as of the moment.

Will the Spinoff Be A Hit?

Based upon the huge success of "The Force Awakens" which earned around $248 million worldwide, Variety suggested that "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" would share the same success but with lesser profits. When it releases, the forecast suggested it would earn around $120-150 million locally and would add $150 million when it releases in foreign locations such as China and South Korea.

Despite the success being predicted by other sources, New York Times contributor suggested that "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" may not be a success as the other sources predicted. For one, the contributor suggested that there are too many character and tactical explanation to the battles specified from the trailer. Furthermore, he also suggested that the Star Wars franchise had already can explore outside worlds from the Skywalker family but that the said incorporation was the primary reason why it was a success in the first place. Will the spinoff stand alone and succeed without the Skywalkers?

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will release in theaters this coming weekend, Dec. 14, 2016.
