When the first trailer for "Logan," the final installment to the Wolverine sequel was released last October, critics had already labeled the movie to be a blockbuster hit when it arrives in theaters. One Marvel Cinematic Universe iconic director, Scott Derrickson, suggested that it may be the best movie produced by Marvel yet. In fact, Ryan Reynolds of "Deadpool" even showed his deep interest for a possible mashup between his movie and that of Hugh Jackman's iconic portrayal. Will it happen?

Details On "The Wolverine" Sequel

Through his Twitter account, Marvel Cinematic Universe director Scott Derrickson revealed that he had seen the first 40 minutes of the upcoming "Logan" film, the final installment to the Wolverine sequel. He also shared how awesome the first part of the movie was and referred to it as possibly the best film ever made by the studio so far.

Other than Derrickson, few critics were also given the same opportunity to view the first 40 minutes of the movie. When inquired about what they thought of it, the screenings triggered universally appalled reactions which may have confirmed the director's notions, reported Cinema Blend.

The Possible Mashup of "Deadpool" and "Wolverine"

In other news, the main actor who played in "Deadpool," Ryan Reynolds, also recently conveyed his interest in creating a mashup between his movie and that of the Wolverine sequel. In an interview, he shared that he would love to see several Marvel characters appear in one single movie other than the "X-Men" franchise. In fact, he suggested creating a distinct film where this possibility may occur, reported Huffington Post.

Despite Reynolds' hopes, Hugh Jackman had also shown his retirement from his epic role in the Wolverine sequel. Earlier this year, he had revealed that "Logan" would be his last portrayal of his character as he felt that his age would become inappropriate for he would not be able to properly convey the character due to physical difficulties.

Reynolds still felt that he could still convince Jackman to take up on his offer. In fact, he said that he would urge his internet friends to convince the actor to play his character with him on the suggested film.

The last installment for the Wolverine sequel entitled "Logan" will release in theaters this coming March 3, 2017. Will Hugh Jackman consider the offer of "Deadpool" actor Ryan Reynolds?
