Since the release of "The Fate of the Furious" trailer, fans have been reacting positively  that it was considered an internet favorite. However, concerns are now rising as to whether "Fast and Furious 8" would be able to overcome the last installment when Paul Walker was still around. Speculations also pointed out that the franchise may have died along with Brian O'Connor.

When the "Fate of the Furious" trailer was released, fans were curious as to whether Lucas Black's role in the franchise would be the role replacement for Paul Walker, an original cast member who had died tragically while the cast and crew were still filming for "Fast 7."

As reported by International Business Times, Black played a character named Sean Boswell in "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift," the only installment in the franchise where Walker did not participate in. This particular role was the main character in lieu of O'Connor in the franchise.

Although this may seem to have been a replacement of the actor who passed, fans claimed that Walker could never be replaced. In fact, rumors also pointed out that it's the franchise production team's effort to try and fill the significant role of O'Connor in the franchise that, if without replacement, would doom the rest of the films that would follow after Walker's involvement.

In other news, Cinema Blend also reported that the franchise would have a hard time ensuring success. The 2015 blockbuster where Walker was honored in an emotional scene with Vin Diesel by the end of "Fast 7" grossed to a whopping $1.5 billion that it was acknowledged as the eight top grossing film of all time.

The source indicated that the success of the latest "Fast and Furious" installment was due to Walker's death that they had to resort to massive editing to make his character live on through to the end. In fact, one fan speculated that the franchise's success was mainly due to Walker's character.

Now that Paul Walker can no longer be a part of "The Fate of the Furious," will the cast and crew be able to live by their promise to their fallen family member to keep his legacy live on with the franchise? Did the rest of "Fast and the Furious" installments die with Walker?
