"The Originals" Season 4 filming has wrapped up and fans have less than four months to wait to see its premiere in 2017. Here are some spoilers and predictions surrounding the fourth season of "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off.

Speculations surfaced that the finale of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 may set the stage for the events of "The Originals" Season 4. This could explain why the air date of "TVD" spinoff has been held back until the parent show concludes.

Though nothing specific was confirmed by the executive producers of the shows, predictions are rife that "The Originals" storyline will still be connected to "The Vampire Diaries" even if the latter will end with its Season 8. Additionally, there could also be a possibility that more characters from "TVD" would cross over to the spin-off series.

It was earlier reported by TV Line that Alaric Saltzman of "TVD" will head to New Orleans to hand a special artifact to Klaus Mikaelson. He is the first character who has been confirmed to appear on Season 4 of "The Originals."

However, fans of both shows apparently want to see Caroline Forbes renew her relationship with Klaus too. Could it be possible for Caroline to leave Mystic Falls and start a new life with Klaus on "The Originals?"

Fans of Team "Klaroline" may be delighted by the thought of their renewed romance but it seems that the new season will shift focus on Hope, Klaus' daughter. Hope has grown up after a five-year jump where the event of the new season will pick up.

In a separate report by TV Line, it was revealed that Klaus will be more concerned about Hope's safety according to Executive Producer Michael Narducci. When Narducci was asked about Klaus' relationship with Hope's mother, Hayley, he said, "They trust each other and will do whatever it takes to protect their kid, and I think you'll start to see a lot more of that."

"They're not lovers, but they're parents of this girl, and they have to be in concert if they're going to do everything they need to do to raise her and protect her," the producer continued. Based on Narducci's statement, is it possible for Klaus to fall in love with Hayley again?

It still remains to be seen whether Klaus and Hayley will get another shot at romance on "The Originals" Season 4. The only way we know is to see the new episodes as the series returns on March 17.
