Following God of War's trailer reveal during E3, the video is now the most viewed gameplay trailer. The video currently has almost 15 million unique views.

E3 Trailer. During Sony's press conference at E3 2016, they began with the 10-minute trailer video as their introduction. While the video was playing, it was accompanied by a live orchestra playing the score.

The video features an older Kratos, the "Ghost of Sparta" and the original protagonist of the game, accompanied by his son. The anti-hero is teaching his son the ways of hunting and ogre-slaying and find themselves battling against creatures from Norse mythology.

Sony Santa Monica's Creative Director Cory Barlog has always been very active on his Twitter account, usually answering most of the fans' questions. In a reply, Barlog has confirmed to a fan that the studio is almost finished shooting the scenes for the game.

"We finished most of the shooting," Barlog answered. "But there are still some things to shoot."

Since its E3 2016 debut in June, there has been little to no information released about God of War. Since E3, there was no other mention of the title in other major gaming conventions such as PlayStation Experience and Gamescom.

The team has been hard at work since September when Barlog revealed that his team was aiming to push the gaming boundaries of the PS4 for "God of War." Barlog has also been active in responding to all of the fans' fears about the game's lack of updates.

The creative director has gone on record to say that more details about the game will be revealed once the gameplay trailer video reaches 15 million views on YouTube. At the time of writing, the trailer video currently has 14,441,853 views.

Sony has yet to confirm when the actual release date of God of War will be. However, it is more or less certain that it will happen sometime in 2017.
