The holidays are upon us and so is season 2 of Sense8. The Sense8 Christmas Special officially started the series' much-awaited second season with a two-hour holiday event.

'Sense8': A Christmas Special. The two-hour special opens with a bang as the cast is seen swimming underwater. Several things are happening all at once while Avicii's "Feeling Good" is playing in the background.

Picking up where season 1 left off, Riley (Tuppence Middleton) and Will (Brian J. Smith) are officially a couple. The two of them are seen shooting up heroin together in several scenes.

Will is constantly having dreams and visions of Angelica (played by Daryl Hannah) who keeps implying that he should commit suicide. He is also troubled by the fact that Whispers (Terrence Mann) is threatening his father.

Lito (Miguel Angel Silvestre) officially decides to come out of the closet as a homosexual and his acting career takes a dive. He reveals that he is mostly afraid of what his mother will think.

He is joined by his lover Hernando and his "beard" Daniela to visit his mother's house on Christmas Eve. There Lito's mother tells him that she knew all along about his homosexuality and that she was very proud of him for being honest to the public about his sexuality.

Nomi (Jamie Clayton) and Amanita (Freema Agyeman) are being hunted by Agent Bendix. The two are eventually reunited and are living with Bug, Nomi's hacker friend.

Kala (Tina Desai) still hasn't had sex with her husband Rajan. She still obviously has feelings for Wolfgang but still struggles to make her loveless marriage work.

Wolfgang (Max Riemelt) is depressed because of Kala's rejection. He forges an alliance with a crime boss named Volker and gets himself into a lot of trouble during the episode.

Capheus (previously played by Aml Ameen and now played by Toby Onwumere) loses his old Van Damn bus to an explosion. Lucky for him, the father of the girl he helped in season 1 gives him a brand new bus as a thank you gift.

Sun (Bae Doona) is still in jail. She was almost murdered by her new attorneys who were hired by her brother, but the sensates came to her rescue and helped her overpower her attackers.

Once again the show has an intense orgy with all of the sensates and their lovers. There is also a powerful rave scene that really picks up the pace of the show.

All of the characters' conflicts are left unresolved leaving much to seen in the rest of season 2. The Christmas special ends on New Year's Eve with the sensates helping Wolfgang fight off a bunch of thugs who are after him.

Now that the Sense8 Christmas special has been released, there are several months to wait until the rest of the season. Season 2 will return with 10 new episodes beginning on Friday, May 5, 2017.
