"Making a Murderer" Season 2's star Steven Avery has sent a Christmas greeting to his and his nephew Brendan Dassey's supporters. In his message, the convicted is hopeful that he and Dassey are going to be free in 2017 because of science.

The "Making a Murderer" Season 2's lead star sent out Christmas cards to his followers as a sign of his gratitude for their nonstop support. The 54-year-old wrote his big thanks to everyone who believes in him, claiming that science will save him and his nephew in the coming year. Dassey, on the other hand, has one wish for Christmas and that is for people to donate to a charity that gives presents to the children of the prisoners.

Moreover, Mirror Online reported that Avery and Dassey are now looking forward to getting acquitted with the help of their legal teams that might be seen in "Making a Murderer" Season 2. The two men's lawyers are also hopeful that they will be freed in the next six months after their appeals. Dassey's legal representative is granted with a procedural victory in federal court that allows them to give new evidence that could help his case.

If their wishes would be granted, the federation's effort for a retrial would need its main plank, which is the confession. The lawyers believe that this might lead the case to be abandoned even before the trial would start, and if it ever pushes through, they would be protected for the guilty verdict. To recall, in November, a judge ordered a series of new tests into the blood vial that is the main reason of the "Making a Murderer" Season 2 star's conviction.

Avery's lawyer Kathleen Zellner admitted that an agreement is already filed with the special judge named Angela Sutkiewicz, who is assigned to supervise his appeal. The blood vial is a sample of his from 1996 that, according to his defense, is allegedly manipulated during the previous trials, The Sun cited. Netflix has yet to announce the return of "Making a Murderer" Season 2 on the small screens.
