‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ Release Date, Latest News & Update: Calls For Female Protagonist Ramp Up, Setting Going International
Rockstar Games has a full plate ahead with “Red Dead Redemption 2” in focus. Aside from the action-western game, there is “Grand Theft Auto 6” to look forward to. “GTA 6” is not expected to gain steam until 2020, the plausible date on when it can come out.
The basis for such is the release schedule that Rockstar follows. “Grand Theft Auto 5” was released on Sept. 17, 2013. Rockstar Games admitted that they are taking baby steps as far as game development for “Grand Theft Auto 6” is concerned. There is a chance that "GTA 6" could adapt some virtual reality feature though much of that depends on how VR technology ramps up in the coming years, Neurogadget reported.
But aside from the release date and game features possible for “Grand Theft Auto 6”, there is the main characters and location that have yet to be settled. Right now most have relied on speculations with Rockstar Games keeping things under wrap. With regard to the main character, the belief is that there will be a female protagonist in the mix.
Eva Mendes has been widely linked to provide the voice talent for that character on “Grand Theft Auto 6”. Ironically, husband Ryan Gosling will be lending his voice as well to another character. Aside from that, there is the game setting for “GTA 6” that needs to be addressed. The word out is that it will no longer be in the United States with Rockstar Games going international.
Among the regions dished include London and Tokyo for “Grand Theft Auto 6”, Digital Spy reported earlier this year. Dan Houser also made some comments that all the more ramped up the possibility. For now, the wait is on for “GTA 6”. The logical date may be 2020 though an earlier release in 2018 is not discounted.
