'Dishonored 2' News & Update: The Late Carrie Fisher Quietly Recorded an Easter Egg Role in 'Dishonored'
Just when everyone thought the horrors of 2016 was over, two more celebrity deaths rocked the world as the year came to a close. "Star Wars" star Carrie Fisher passed away on December 27, followed by her mother, Debbie Reynodes a day later. Throughout their prolific careers, both actresses have touched so many people's lives. But what most don't know is that the late Carrie Fisher quietly recorded an Easter egg role in Arkane and Bethesda's 2012 endeavor, "Dishonored."
This year, "Dishonored" fans were treated to a sequel that featured a playable Emily. What fans may not know, however, is that the late Carrie Fisher quietly recorded an Easter egg role in "Dishonored." According to IGN, the actress recorded a few lines for the 2012 stealth action adventure video game from Arkane Studios. Her lines will only be heard if the player defeats a particular propaganda officer in the "Return to the Tower" mission.
The late Carrie Fisher quietly recorded an Easter egg role in "Dishonored," and gamers will have to listen when she goes on the public address system in Dunwall. There, she warns gamers not to "interfere with the regular transfer of deceased persons to disposal centers in the Flooded District," among other announcements. "Dishonored" creative director Harvey Smith took to Twitter to honor the late actress, crediting her for her graciousness, humor, and creativity.
This isn't the first time a celebrity has lent her voice to Arkane Studios' games. Award-winning actress Susan Sarandon, Lena Headey, and Michael Madsen also lent their voices to do recordings for "Dishonored." Back in May, GameSpot reported that "Dishonored 2" has its own set of celebrity voices in the game. "Daredevil"'s Vincent D'Onofrio and Rosario Dawson lent their voices to the Duke of Serkonos and the Dreadful Wale Captain, respectively.
In addition, "Dishonored 2" also features the voices of Pedro Pascal of "Game of Thrones" as Paolo, the Howler Gang Leader. There's also Stephen Russell as Corvo Attano himself. "Dishonored 2" is now playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
