‘The Flash’ Season 3 Spoilers, Latest News & Updates: Team Revisiting Gorilla City, Grodd Returns
“The Flash” season 3 is expected to resume on Jan. 24, 2017 with plenty of strings left untied. The mid-season finale saw Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) witnessing the murder of Iris West (Candice Patton) at the hands of “Savitar”.
All that is to take place at some point in the future so it may take some time to explain that incident. For the meantime, it is business as usual for Team Flash who are set to deal with an old nemesis, “Gorilla Grodd”.
“Grodd” was last seen in season 2, sent off to Earth-2 headed to Gorilla City. While it seemed that the psychic ape would be at peace with his new home, the altered timelines caused by “The Flash” may have affected that as well.
The return of Grodd was confirmed by the voice behind the ape, David Sobolov, Comicbook.com reported. He made the announcement via Twitter which would later on be retweeted by Gustin. Details are kept under wraps for now though it is believed that Team Flash will be in a two-episode arc over at Gorilla City.
A glimpse at the comic book version shows Grodd believing “Flash” was sent back to him as a gift. Such would turn to chaos when the elders tried to help Barry recall why most believed he was “The Runner” in the relics.
With an altered timeline, there is a chance that Grodd would have vested interest in the “Speed Force” as well. In fact, it gets to the point where the Grodd-led apes would invade the actual earth. Is there another invasion forthcoming?
Of course, most know that not all in the comics will be applied. There are other characters reportedly making the trip, identities which have yet to be known, Screen Rant reported. Also, there is the Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) of Earth-2 to consider, even Jesse Quick (Violett Beane).
There are plenty of things to factor in so make sure to stay tuned what “The Flash” will be up against when the season resumes on Jan. 24 on CW.
