WWE 2017 Latest News & Updates: Triple H Return Bad for Business, King of the Ring Scrapped for Good

Triple H is expected to return soon as the WWE COO starts preparation for the awaited ‘mentor vs. student’ match involving Seth Rollins. “Trips” is speculated to make an appearance at the Royal Rumble 2017 when “The Architect” battles Chris Jericho.

Despite the magnitude of such a match, critics believe that Triple H may be better off giving other guys the spotlight. He has been a constant returning figure in the WWE and most believe that such has become predictable. The repeat performances of Triple H are seen more as a way to build on the stock of rising stars. He has done it before with Triple H and Dean Ambrose, ironically Seth Rollins’ “Shield” brothers.

Looking ahead, however, it may do more hurt than good since it deprives other stars to make their mark. Triple H has more than proven himself in the WWE scene, Bleacher Report reported. He is expected to be named to the WWE Hall of Fame and most believe it is time to flip the script. Could this be in the cards of the WWE top brass soon?

While all that remains to be seen, there is the matter of actual pay-per-views the WWE offers. There are plenty to mention but one thing associated with Triple H is the “King of the Ring” tournament. The fate of “King of the Ring” was recently touched on “Something to Wrestle" with by Bruce Pritchard. It was revealed that the PPV fares poorly in the financial aspect and also affected the impact of the Royal Rumble. Of the two, the revenue draw is what may have done it in.

WWE CEO Vince McMahon doesn’t like it, explaining why it may no longer be found in the WWE pay-per-view schedule. This is seen as a good move since it give the Royal Rumble more meaning. As most know, the Royal Rumble is usually the stage which affixes the matches expected at Wrestlemania. The eventual winner of the battle royal gets to choose which championship to fight for at the WWE spectacle.
