'Fifty Shades Darker' Release Date, News & Spoilers: Universal Releases New TV Spot Just in Time for 2017
It's going to be an interesting Valentine's Day for "Fifty Shades" fans, as the second installment in the franchise will finally hit big screens. But just in time for the New Year, Universal released a new TV spot for the upcoming "Fifty Shades Darker," which sees a release date of February 10.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the new TV spot for "Fifty Shades Darker" was aired during the commercial breaks during "Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest" last Saturday. In the latest TV spot, fans and viewers find Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) talking to her friends about her relationship with Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan). She soon finds herself haunted by a woman from Christian's past, Leila (Bella Heathcote).
As per Daily Mail, the clip only lasts 32 seconds, but it features some steamy scenes with Anastasia and Christian in the bathroom and in bed. The new "Fifty Shades Darker" TV spot also features a new track by Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik called "I Don't Wanna Live Forever," which was also recently released in anticipation of the film.
The new "Fifty Shades Darker" TV spot shows Anastasia and Christian seemingly happy with their relationship, up until a mystery woman shows up to creepily spy on Anastasia. The voice over asks Anastasia if she believes that she would be the first woman who has tried to "save" Christian Grey.
"Fifty Shades Darker" is directed by James Foley and written by Niall Leonard, based on E.L. James' novel of the same name. On December 9, Swift and Malik's "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" was released as one of the songs on the film's soundtrack. The film has an R rating from the MPAA.
