"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will see a new character as it approaches its final left. Fans of Nina Dobrev should rejoice as Alexandra Chando arrives!

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will see another character for its final season, one that greatly resembles fan-favorite Elena (Nina Dobrev). Alexandra Chando just joined The CW series for its final leg, Buddy TV reported. Chando starred as twin Emma Becker and Sutton Mercer on ABC Family’s “The Lying Game.” Likewise, she appeared on other projects like “Castle,” “Outcast,” and “Hindsight”.

The Elena lookalike will portray a doctor named Tara, who may get tangled in Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) undertaking. She is set to make her debut in “The Vampire Diaries” season 8, episode 8 entitled “We Have History Together." This particular episode is directed by fellow co-star Ian Somerhalder. The official synopsis of the episode tells that Stefan and Damon will be hunting their next victim in the anger management class that they just enrolled in.

“The Vampire Diaries” season 8, episode 8 will continue to see Stefan and Damon’s pledge of loyalty to Cade. This is where Chando will come in – she’ll be playing the young doctor that the Salvatore brothers will prey on. Nobody knows if she could be the replacement of Dobrev as fans wait patiently for her appearance in the final season.

Executive producer Julie Plec earlier teased that Dobrev may return for the final season. Whatever case may be, Plec has already prepared an alternate ending that fans could be happy about.
