'The Man In The High Castle' Season 3: Eric Overmyer Could Make Amazon Series Better After Frank Spotnitz Departure
Fans of Amazon's most successful series are currently celebrating: "The Man in the High Castle" has finally been confirmed for a third season. In addition to that, the series has found itself a talented new showrunner in Eric Overmyer, who will take over following Frank Spotnitz's departure. So does this mean that "The Man in the High Castle" Season 3 will be much better than its predecessors?
There is little doubt that Frank Spotnitz will be sorely missed in "The Man in the High Castle" Season 3. After all, the creator was responsible for leading the sci-fi thriller into becoming one of the most acclaimed recent shows. However, the Amazon series also appears to have a brighter future with "Bosch" executive producer Eric Overmyer at the helm.
Deadline was first to report about Eric Overmyer being tapped as the new showrunner of "The Man in the High Castle" Season 3. Most fans immediately responded enthusiastically to Frank Spotnitz's replacement, although the reaction may have more to do with the Amazon show's renewal. Nevertheless, there are a few who believe Overmyer's involvement will push the dystopian drama even further next year.
There are speculations that Frank Spotnitz's departure might have a lot to do with creative differences with Amazon, leading to the showrunner's unceremonious exit while the second season was still in production. Things could change when Eric Overmyer takes over, since the "Bosch" executive producer has never had a problem working with the streaming giant. Hopefully, this would mean that "The Man in the High Castle" Season 3 will begin production much earlier in time for a release sometime in mid-November.
Amazon has not yet announced when "The Man in the High Castle" Season 3 will begin production or confirmed the new season's air date. There is a possibility that Eric Overmyer could start working on the series much earlier than Frank Spotnitz's normal schedule this year.
