The Undertaker was expected to make his return though most believed it would be on WWE SmackDown. He did make that appearance before Survivor Series and has yet to officially get back into the ring. With the big events like the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania 33 coming up, the Undertaker will reportedly appear next week on Raw.

It could indicate a cross-brand match happening soon which may pry the attention away from a much-speculated showdown with John Cena. It remains unclear what the Undertaker will do though it could be to announce his official entry to the Royal Rumble. Moving ahead, that could also breathe some life to a potential showdown with Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 33, ComicBook reported.

If so, such causes a lot of complications for Wrestlemania 33. There are murmurs that the Undertaker will wrestle his last Wrestlemania this coming April though nothing has been confirmed. The same holds true on who he will face. Between Cena and Reigns, the logical choice is the first one. That would mean the Undertaker would have to win it all to gain the right to choose which title to go after.

Worth noting here is that Cena will be facing AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble in San Antonio. Cena could win the title over Styles which would allow him to tie Ric Flair as the only ones to win the heavyweight title a record 16 times. Better yet, it could also set the stage for Wrestlemania 33 showdown - with the WWE SmackDown heavyweight title on the line.

To sweeten things, Wrestlemania 33 could turn out to be a career vs. title match between Cena (or Reigns) and the Undertaker. That seems the most plausible conclusion with the Undertaker taking the Royal Rumble pathway. All that should paint a better picture next week which will also see the return of Shawn Michaels. Ironically, it was the Undertaker who sent Michaels off to retirement, Wrestling Inc. reported.
