Kodak Digital Super 8 Latest News & Update: New Improvements To Be Shown At CES 2017

Kodak got a lot of attention last year when it showed off the Kodak Digital Super 8. The only problem is that the said device never officially came out and such was attributed to various reasons sparked by feedback from interested users. Now, that all that has been addressed, a revived and improved device will reportedly debut at the CES 2017.

It will be take-two for Kodak for the Digital Super 8 in a sense, complete with the new innovative features. Among the new features include a new scroll wheel, a trigger button, and a bigger LCD screen. The new features play an important role for the Kodak Digital Super 8 though the injection will come at a price. From a previous SRP that ranged from $400 to $750, the improved and limited edition version will now cost a whopping $2,000.

The hefty price could turn off the interest of some users though it would be best to note that there will only be 2,000 units made available. The good news is that there is a non-special edition in the works with the price yet to be known, Gizmodo reported.

For the benefit of the ones who missed out on the Kodak Digital Super 8 last year, folks get a fully analog film camera which records videos on the Super 8 cartridges. It still carries the same SD card for storage and HDMI port for the interface, particularly users who want to hook it up to bigger screens, CNET reported.

Kodak will still assist when it comes to processing the film cartridges to digitalized versions. Depending on the format of choice, users can pick up the RAW data and do the necessary edits on their end with their preferred software. The Kodak Digital Super 8 will be around once again at CES 2017 with a possible launch date for the limited edition snappers happening in May.
