Square Enix have managed to keep the "Kingdom Hearts 3" release date a mystery for a long time. Since there had been no update regarding the game, there were many whispers and speculations floating in the Internet regarding its relase date. Now, the Japanese video game developer's artist Tetsuya Nomura has finally addressed the much-awaited update regarding "KH 3."

When Tetsuya Nomura shared in his holiday message that 2017 marks the 15th year for the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise, many believed that they will celebrate this milestone with huge surprises. One of those surprises might be the release of "Kingdom Hearts 3" before the year ends. That's wishful thinking at the moment, given that no release date has yet been confirmed or announced.

Now, the Square Enix video game artist shared that the wait for the highly-anticpated game is not yet over. "Production is progressing on unannounced worlds, in a state that we cannot show them off," he told Weekly Famitsu, as translated by Gematsu. Tetsuya Nomura then revealed that gamers will not be playing "Kingdom Hearts 3" anytime soon, noting that the development for "KH 3" still has "some way to go."

Aside from the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise, "Final Fantasy VII" also celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, alongside the 30th anniversary for "Final Fantasy." But when asked about the development of the "FFVII" Remake, Tetsuya Nomura just apologized for the delay and assured fans that "KH 3" and the "FFVII" Remake will be worth the wait.

The video game artist then noted that despite the delay of "Kingdom Hearts 3" and the "Final Fantasy VII" Remake, there are a lot of titles that will be released this year. Tetsuya Nomura may be suggesting that fans still have other games to spend their time exploring this year while waiting for the "KH 3" and "FFVII" Remake to finally launch. The "Kingdom Hearts 3" E3 2015 trailer stated that the game is still in the works.
