"Yuri On Ice" Season 1 may have recently concluded, but the demand for a sequel of the Japanese sports anime television series is undeniably high. The season finale gave fans more reason to want to know more about Yuri's progress in figure skating.

Known for being shy and timid, Yuri Katsuki seemingly didn't want to get much attention from the public even though he had already participated in a figure skating contest. After coming last from the event, Yuri has let himself go and viewers can somehow relate to the "Yuri On Ice" protagonist's loser moments.

When Yuri's ultimate idol, Victor Nikiforov, showed interest in coaching the shy figure skater, everyone could tell what he was feeling: a giddy excitement from being noticed by someone who looked up to so much. The thought of a young boy meeting his idol definitely captured a lot of hearts and the vibe that the series has given the viewers made them realize that this is definitely more than just fan service.

Yuri worked hard and even lost all the weight that he gained after coming last in his very first figure skating competition. With his idol Victor by his side, training him well to become the next best thing on the ice, fans of "Yuri On ice" have been rooting for the young star and hoped for him to bag the gold medal.

Unfortunately, even having five-time World Champion Victor by his side as a coach, Yuri Katsuki only ended up winning silver. While that result may have devastated some of the viewers, many took it as a sign that we haven't seen the last of Yuri yet. That may also mean that Yuri may finally be getting his gold medal in "Yuri On Ice" Season 2. The creator of the show has yet to comment on this matter.
