HTC Ocean Series Latest News & Update: Promo Material Shows Why New Line Has The ‘Edge’

HTC continues its drive to move up in the smartphone segment and all that could depend on how great the HTC Ocean family will be. At least three different models are to be expected. This includes the HTC Ocean Master, HTC Ocean Note, and the HTC Ocean Smart. Curiously, a video was leaked by media personnel recently sending most wondering if the device/s will indeed be that good.

Regardless, HTC highlights the big things to expect from the HTC Ocean series. And one that stands out are the edges of the device which seem to have added flavor. This includes seeing the edges of the device as alternative ways to interface such as scrolling or tapping. The interface mimics the usual practice of mobile phone owners these days though limited to the front-face screen display.

There are of course more innovations to look forward to from the HTC Ocean series. That includes the built-in camera and the ease of use. Much of this was shown in the promo video, showing off how ‘selfies’ can be captured easily and with only one hand,  Phone Arena reported.

According to tipster Evan Blass however, the smartphone in the promo video is not related to the much awaited Ocean Note. He adds that all this could go down on Jan. 12 at HTC’s big launch event. So if not the HTC Ocean Note, the guess on the curved displayed device may be down to either the HTC Ocean Master or the HTC Ocean Smart. Speaking of the HTC Ocean Note, another leak found on Weibo shows the device sporting an all-glass frame.

This indicates a big move by HTC, departing from the use of aluminum from previous models. The leak also showed a secondary ticker display with shortcuts on the 5.7-inch display above the screen. This calls to mind the LG V20 feature, hinting the LG could be the one behind the said feature. Some of the specs of the HTC Ocean Note were mentioned in a previous post.
