Michael Schumacher Latest News & Update: Two Sponsors Pull Support For F1 Legend, Deutsche Vermogensberatung Stays
A couple of sponsors have backed out their support for Michael Schumacher, who continues recuperate after a dreaded skiing accident back in 2013. Schumacher recently celebrated his 48th birthday and the report is not exactly one that helps.
The two sponsors that have withdrawn their support for Michael Schumacher are Audemars Piguet and Hormann, a luxury watch and locks maker, respectively, Maquina do Esporte reported. Both groups join previous sponsors who opted out such as Jet Set, Navyboot, Rosbacher, and Erlinyou. Audemars Piguet last rolled out a collection of watches in honor of Michael Schumacher but are no longer included in the catalog.
A video tribute was released last year dedicated to the racing legend. Along with Hormann, the last ads by the two companies came in 2012 and 2013 which were near the time Schumi suffered that skiing mishap in the Alps. Nevertheless, the growing list of withdrawing backers, Michael Schumacher still remains the fifth most successful athlete based on figures released by Forbes at an estimated $1 billion.
There are still several backers around for Michael Schumacher. That includes main trading partner Deutsche Vermogensberatung who is also sponsoring the rise of Mick Schumacher. Both Michael and Deutsche Vermogenberatung have partnered since 1996. It should be interesting to see if the sponsor pull-out will have an effect on the current state of the F1 great.
Michael Schumacher medical bills have been piling up with recent moves by wife Corrina sending mixed signals. That includes the sale of a personal yacht and resort. Corrina Schumacher alleges that these were done since Michael can no longer enjoy them should he recover from his current ordeal. The full state of Schumi’s medical condition has been kept away from the public at the request of the Schumacher family.
