New 'The Defenders' Images Reveal Luke Cage In Handcuffs, Jessica Jones Interrogated By Misty Knight, Sigourney Weaver's Mystery Villain [PHOTOS]
People are understandably excited about "The Defenders", which will bring together Netflix's Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Daredevil and Iron Fist in one amazing series. There are new images from the show that reveal some details about Power Man and his ex-lover, and it looks like the identity of Sigourney Weaver's mysterious villain has finally been revealed.
Luke Cage didn't really manage to stay away from trouble in the first season of his own series while Jessica Jones finally killed her ultimate nemesis Kilgrave in her show's season finale. Unfortunately, it looks like both will end up in police custody in "The Defenders". Could Sigourney Weaver's baddie have something to do with their arrest?
Entertainment Weekly recently shared awesome new images from "The Defenders" showing all four heroes together. However, the individual pictures also show Luke Cage in handcuffs and in prison orange while Jessica Jones is also in cuffs while Misty Knight interrogates her. Is it possible that Sigourney Weaver's new villain had the two arrested?

In addition to unveiling the photos of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones in (useless) handcuffs, the site also revealed the identity of Sigourney Weaver's character. The villain is reportedly named Alexandra, a "powerful force in New York City" who is in no way connected to any comic book character. Nevertheless, there are already speculations that Weaver's baddie could play an important role in bringing all the heroes together in the first place.
Sigourney Weaver might be a new addition to the Netflix/Marvel universe, but "The Defenders" will still feature several familiar faces. In addition to Misty Knight from "Luke Cage", Ecka Darville from "Jessica Jones" is set to appear in the series as well. Although "The Defenders" air date has not yet been announced, the show is expected to premiere later this year.
