Fans have been waiting for the return of "Rick and Morty" Season 3 on the small screen. However, Adult Swim has no official announcement about its release as yet, but the network revealed an 8-bit video-game-like introduction of the animated television series.

According to The A.V. Club, it is not actually an 8-bit video of "Rick and Morty" but something better like 16-bit. In fact, it can even compare to the likes of some classic games like "Owlboy" and "Stardew Valley." The clip is made by the creator of "Super Dino Boys" Paul Robertson and relives some memorable moments of the show, which includes the unforgettable monster with the nutsack on his chin.

Robertson has been trying to for the past eight years to improve the GIF format and 8-bit aesthetic transfer from Web 1.0 to 2.0. Now, he managed to do it with the theme of "Rick and Morty." The creator along with Ivan Dixon built sprites in Photoshop and GraphicsGale in one and a half month to animate in Autodesk Animator.

On choosing "Rick and Morty," they told The Creators Project blog that is one of their favorite television shows. They even revealed that they have managed to include as many of their favorite characters as much as possible while still maintaining the timing of its original scenes. As a matter of fact, even the sequence Mr. Poopybutthole's scathing look to Beth is included.

Meanwhile, with the revelation of this new video, some predict that there will be an 8-bit or 16-bit episode coming in "Rick and Morty" Season 3. "I don't know, but hopefully I can work on it if they do," Robertson teased. It is also expected that Rick and Morty themselves might be in a simulation scene or the initial might be in a television show. Hence, this clip might be their escape from one jail to another.
