According to Engadget, Microsoft will be showcasing the Windows 10 Game Mode as part of Insider previews this week. While users and gamers on PC will have to wait a little while longer before it does get released, they should rest easy that Game Mode is confirmed. In fact, the Game Mode is dedicated to improving gameplay on both legacy Windows games (Win32) and modern titles (UWP).
In a report from GameSpot, Xbox platform engineering head Mike Ybarra shared that their goals for Windows 10 Game Mode was to improve gaming performance. Now that they have the early version of it ready, they are rolling it out to Insiders for them to test. Ybarra also promised that there will be more details "on what it is and how it works soon."
In the meantime, Windows Insiders are the ones who should get excited to test the Windows 10 Game Mode this week. With the tests, they will be able to see visual elements and should be able to notice improved gaming performances and experiences on PC. Unfortunately, it will arrive to us regular folks further down the road, but hopefully this year.
The Windows 10 Game Mode is slated to arrive alongside the "Creators" update that will launch sometime this spring. To stay updated on the latest news on Windows 10, make sure to bookmark this page.
