‘Westworld’ Season 2 Air Date: Check Out When HBO Will Premiere Season 2, It's A Little Late Than Expected
As promised, HBO delivered another tantalizing original series that hooked a lot of viewers. After a successful first season, fans are now clamoring when "Westworld" season 2 will air but they may have to wait a little while.
"Westworld" season 2 was initially expected to be released late into 2017 or as late as 2018 according to Cinemablend. While HBO is pretty tight-lipped about the potential return of the series, an interview with HBO President Casey Bloys revealed that fans may just have to wait a bit longer. He confirmed that "Westworld" season 2 until 2018.
While Casey Bloys' comment isn't at all revealing, at least fans should set proper expectations around the possible air date of "Westworld" season 2. If the series premieres winter of 2018, this will help HBO to have a strong midseason line-up. There's also the possibility of airing the series late spring or early summer, alongside "Game of Thrones," however many fans believe this will just defeat the purpose. It was initially believed "Westworld" was a way for HBO to get fans hooked even without "Game of Thrones."
If HBO will indeed air "Westworld" season 2 in 2018, this means that it will be more than a year between the first and second season. The report pointed out that a year-long wait may wade off the momentum however, the science fiction series did more than a year to finish the first season. So, it doesn't come as a great surprise that the second season will take as long to develop as well. "Westworld" is set for at least five or six seasons, which the team has put together already, so it wouldn't be hard for HBO to decide on early renewal to get a schedule.
Meanwhile, "Westworld" season 2 predictions from The Hollywood Reporter say that Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) may actually be Wyatt. Wyatt took over Dolores when she shot Robert Ford last season according to Wood. This is just one of the many predictions fans are speculating while waiting for the "Westworld" season 2.
