‘Half-Life 3’ Latest News & Update: Valve CEO Gabe Newell Holding Rare Open Forum On Reddit

“Half-Life 3” remains in the air though no sensible update has come to fruition. The best man to clear the air is Valve CEO Gabe Newell who has time and again doused water on rising speculations. He is scheduled to hold an AMA (“Ask Me Anything”) on Reddit this Jan. 17 where he will be riddled with questions surrounding the potential third installment.

The AMA Gabe Newell will be in is not the first time he will do so. He participated in one back in March 2014 but never touched on the fate of “Half-Life 3”. He instead answered other matters which included his favorite non-Valve game, a $1 million donation and why he continues to stay with Valve, GameSpot reported.

Come Jan.17, gamers are expected to ask him once again on what the future holds for “Half-Life 3”. The link to the AMA can be found here which starts at 3 P.M. PT. Assuming that most ask him about “Half-Life 3”, it is possible that Newell clears the air once more on the game development status. There were some breadcrumbs coming out in the past, including that celebrated AR/VR team from hardware engineer Alan Yates.

All that grew more when game codes were spotted on “DOTA 2”, GameSpresso reported. As for the storyline proper, there were hints of “Half-Life3” having some changes. Gordon Freeman will still be the main protagonist, though with new missions expected. That includes a deep underwater task which would lead Freeman to Dr. Helena Mossman.

Despite nothing close to factual, most are still hoping for “Half-Life 3” to happen particularly in 2018. The second installment, “Half-Life 2” came out way back in 2004 and the game has since gone on a hiatus. Newell is expected to be plagued with queries, hopefully, something that will set the records straight despite stubborn theories for a third installment.
