Apple got some form of redemption recently when they addressed the long-debated issue with the MacBook Pro 2016’s controversial battery life. While a patch has been made available to address the Safari browser-related bug, MacOS Beta also has something that could come in handy to prolong the notebook’s use.

Some users have apparently stumbled upon the ‘Display Brightness’ feature on MacOS Beta which adjusts the resolution to 75 percent, according to Mac Rumors. The feature can be found under the ‘Using Significant Energy’ option. Depending on how technical a user is, this is an option that doesn’t seem new. Laptops offer the same feature when their devices are unplugged.

It is also something similar to iOS 9, best known as "Low Power" mode – which activates when devices drop to below 20 percent. The discovered feature for the MacBook Pro 2016 may be of use to folks on the go but may not be something power-users will laud. There are some who prefer a certain level of brightness which results due to visual impairment issues. But then again, it does add some needed extension for folks using their MacBook Pros when mobile.

Either way, this serves more as an alternative for folks wanting more from their MacBook Pros. With the erratic battery life explained, the latest Apple offering is now being recommended by Consumer Reports thanks to a patch to address the singled out Safari bug issue. The appended Consumer Report evaluation can be viewed here.

It will be interesting if the patch and the new spotted feature will change the fortunes of the MacBook Pro 2016. Most are still underwhelmed with the specs such as the Intel Skylake chips and the 16 GB RAM limit. There is allegedly a new model expected later this year, looming to be more powerful according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple Insider reported. With that yet to be seen, these adjustments and fixes will have to do for now.
