Darth Maul could be the most mysterious character in the "Star Wars" universe that fans are hoping to learn more about, but it looks like Disney simply isn't giving the horned Sith Lord a chance to be known. The recent reveal of concept art from a cancelled Darth Maul video game has had fans of the "Star Wars" Expanded Universe complaining that his awesome storyline will never be unveiled.

It's easy to understand why Darth Maul has gained his own fanbase over the years. The Sith Lord and apprentice of Emperor Palpatine first appeared in "Episode I: The Phantom Menace" and has take a huge leap into animation in "Star Wars: The Clone Wars". Although Maul was supposed to have his own video game from EA, the title has been cancelled. But is there any chance that Disney will decide to bring back the game?

Fans recently got a glimpse at concept art from the cancelled Darth Maul video game, which will reveal how he became a Sith. The title was also set to showcase the torture Maul underwent when he was the Emperor's apprentice. Naturally, fans wondered why Maul's "Star Wars" game was discontinued and immediately demanded for its resurrection.

Unfortunately, it is highly unlikely that EA will push through with the Darth Maul video game, especially since Disney has just gone out of their way to rework the "Star Wars" universe. Nevertheless, fans can still look forward to Maul making an appearance in the animated series "Star Wars Rebels" Season 3.

It has already been confirmed that Darth Maul will show up in the latter half of "Star Wars Rebels" Season 3. The mid-season trailer showed that Maul will face Obi-Wan Kenobi again in an epic rematch. The third season of "Star Wars Rebels" airs on Disney XD every Saturday nights.
