'WWE 2K17' Latest News & Update: Kurt Angle Inclusion To Hall Of Fame Showcase Looming
By now most have probably heard that former "WWE" champion Kurt Angle will lead the "WWE" Hall of Fame Class of 2017. This will all be made official at the Amway Center before Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando. From there it remains to be seen if the former Olympian will take an active role in "WWE" shows. Inserting him, however, in "WWE 2K17" or "WWE 2K18" may not be a bad idea.
Speaking of which, the "WWE 2K17" Hall of Fame Showcase is expected to come out on Feb. 7. As mentioned in a previous post, the add-on will include the legendary circles such as the “Fabulous Freebirds” and the “Von Erichs”. There will be other familiar names in the mix such as Cactus Jack, Diamond Dallas Page, Ivory, Jacqueline, Sting, Ric Flair, Papa Shango and so on.
From the mix alone, there is no denying that Kurt Angle would be a sensible addition to the "WWE 2K" series but probably for "WWE 2K18". He could still be added through the DLC route to "WWE 2K17", something like a special pre-order or bonus for gamers. To date, there is no word if there are further planned expansions which are likely to require payment. For existing "WWE 2K17" Season Pass subscribers, this should not be much of a problem since they will get these packs automatically.
The insertion of Kurt Angle will depend on the period from now up to August. "WWE 2K17" debuted in August 2016 so the logical date of release for "WWE 2K18" would be in about seven months. For now, there is no word if 2K Sports is planning to release another DLC. Given that Angle’s induction was recently announced, doing the necessary scanning and programming may be better off saved for the next "WWE 2K" installment.
With that on the table, gamers can look forward to two big releases in February. One is the "WWE" Hall of Fame showcase and the second is the PC version of "WWE 2K17" according to the 2K official website.
