New 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' Image Reveal First Look At Kurt Russel Character Ego The Living Planet [PHOTO]
Fans have been waiting a long time to get a glimpse at Kurt Russel as Star-Lord's father Ego in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2". The new character has been veiled in secrecy and has yet to appear in any of the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel's images or trailers. However, director James Gunn has just shared a photo that will give everyone an idea of what Russell will look like in the film.
It's easy to understand why fans are excited to see what Star-Lord's father looks like. After all, Peter Quill's dad was one of the hot topics in the first movie, where he was referenced from start to finish. Director James Gunn has definitely been very secretive of Kurt Russel's look in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", but now people can get a general idea of Ego's appearance.
James Gunn proudly posted a photo of Ego on his Facebook page. Or rather, a photo of a Funko and Dorbz version of Kurt Russel's character as he will appear in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2". The vinyl figure confirms that Star-Lord's father will have longish grey hair and matching beard as well as a perpetually unimpressed look on his face.
Unfortunately, it isn't a proper look at Kurt Russel as Ego, but there is a huge possibility that the character will pop up in another "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" trailer that could be released before the sequel premieres. In the meantime, fans continue to speculate on the role that Star-Lord's father will play in the MCU flick and how he will end up working with Peter Quill and his team.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will also star Pom Klementieff as Mantis and Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha. The film is scheduled for release on May 5.
