Sam Heughan Girlfriend 2017: 'Outlander' Season 3 Actor Demands Caitriona Balfe Shippers To 'Stop' What They're Doing
Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have been fighting off romance rumors for quite awhile now. Although fans' gesture of shipping the "Outlander" Season 3 co-stars was initially sweet and harmless, it did get to the point of cyber-bullying. The unfortunate victim of these mean comments and accusations was the "First Light" actor's rumored real-life girlfriend Mackenzie Mauzy.
It's no secret that fans are one of the many reason to make and break a love team. What makes the Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe tandem work is that the fans are supporting their on-screen romance in the historical time travel television drama series, to the point that they want the "Outlander" Season 3 co-stars to be together off-screen as well.
While Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have repeatedly said that they are just friends, their words are just falling on deaf ears as the fans are still aggressively shipping the two to become an official item. Unfortunately for them, Mackenzie Mauzy came into the picture and her existence in Sam Heughan's life threatens the "Outlander" Season 3 co-star shipper, thinking that she may ruin their dream tandem and fans are clearly not happy about that.
Fed up with the nonsense, Sam Heughan broke his silence and finally addressed the mean comments that were thrown at Mackenzie Mauzy. The 36-year-old "Outlander" Season 3 actor blasted all those who have been bullying the "Into The Woods" actress and told them to end their rants once and for all.
"Shameful behaviour by many on social media recently. It's disgusting and needs to stop. Spineless bullying. Stop. Now," Sam Heughan posted on Twitter. Although the shippers of Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are one of the many reasons why their pairing is such a success, the extreme gestures of their supporters may have finally been too much for the "Outlander" Season 3 actor.
