"Outlander" season 3 stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe were ecstatic to win the People's Choice Awards for 2017 Favorite Show, although they're busy filming in Edinburgh as of the moment. Heughan teases "Stranger Things" star Millie Bobby Brown as they thank fans for voting the time-traveling series from Starz.

"Outlander" season 3 won the People's Choice Award as the Favourite TV show on Wednesday night in Hollywood, Comic Book reported. Fans were disappointed that the two lead stars weren't able to personally receive the award. However, lead cast Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe recorded a video, thanking fans for their all-out support and posted it on the official "Outlander" season 3 account. Heughan even poked fun at their competitors, especially to "Stranger Things" star Millie Bobby Brown, 9News added.

Some viewers were surprised with the result, beating off stiff competition against "The Big Bang Theory." "Grey's Anatomy," "Stranger Things" and "The Walking Dead." Although the series has drawn stellar reviews and a solid fan base, CB noted that the viewers are significantly fewer per episode compared to other nominees. However, fans have spoken and cast their votes for "Outlander" season 3 online. In fact, Sam Heughan was as surprised as the rest to find out that their fans were very eager and supportive.

Sam Heughan proudly said they have the best fans. Playfully scolding Heughan, Balfe said that "Outlander" season 3 indeed has the best fans. The cast further revealed that there will be a live Facebook interview so they can thank fans for their support during the People's Choice Awards. "Outlander" is based on Diana Gabaldon's best selling novels of the same name.

The People's Choice Awards aired live on CBS on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, "Outlander" season 3 continues to film in Edinburgh, Scotland until the end of summer. Starz hasn't released any official air date for the upcoming so better stay tuned to know more about the series!
