"The Division" fans who won't be able to get their hands on the paid expansion called "Last Stand" need not worry, as Update 1.6 has a slew of new content to look forward to. While there's no release date set for both "Last Stand" and Update 1.6, gamers should know that they are arriving on the same day.

"The Division" Update 1.6 features special events, new difficulty level, expanded Dark Zones, among a list of other great changes to the online-only open world third-person shooter video game. According to VG247, Ubisoft has addressed regular balancing issues in Update 1.6, as well as a slew of amazing new content. This content comes in the form of special events, new difficulty level, and expanded Dark Zones. In "The Division" Update 1.6 gamers can expect an expanded game map.

The Dark Zone now features three new areas called Dark Zones 7-9, north of Dark Zone 6, and Midtown East. Gamers who explore these areas would find new Landmarks, roaming NPCs, and more opportunities for PvE. In "The Division" Update 1.6, gamers will also see new Contamination Events in the Dark Zone. Gamers should expect elite Cleaners to spawn in the Dark Zone underground every hour.

Note, however, that contamination is lethal and virus filters won't be able to protect gamers from it. Meanwhile, there's also a new difficulty level arriving to "The Division" in Update 1.6. According to GameSpot, a Legendary difficulty option has been added to three missions in "The Division" with Update 1.6. These missions are Times Square, WarrenGate Power Planet, and Napalm Production Site.

Gamers who complete these missions with the new difficulty option will be awarded with exclusive gear and awesome new loot. Ubisoft said that they are also looking to add the Legendary difficulty option to more missions somewhere down the road. To keep up with the latest on "The Division," bookmark this page.
