Eight-time division champion Manny Pacquiao is open to any challenge, including one that may involve UFC champion, Conor McGregor. Everyone is aware of the hyped fight involving “The Notorious” and Floyd Mayweather Jr. though most view it as nothing more than a sideshow. Both McGregor and Mayweather have been jawing but things could be different with the Filipino boxing icon.

Manny Pacquiao commented on the possible Mayweather vs. McGregor fight and was later on quoted of being open to facing the Irishman. This is on the condition that the showdown would be a boxing match, as reported by Boxing Scene. "In boxing? In boxing [I would fight McGregor] but not in [UFC], just boxing," Pacquiao said. Manny Pacquiao shared the same sentiments as most critics, believing McGregor would not stand a chance inside the boxing ring.

He singles out how things are different between the sport and mixed martial arts. With Mayweather and McGregor failing to strike something out due to money issues, a boxing tiff with the 38-year-old fighter is seen by most as more probable. Singled out was the fact that Pacquiao had just received a smaller $4 million guaranteed purse when he fought Jesse Vargas last November.

So negotiations could flourish if the brash-talking Irishman is serious about the fantasy match, Bleacher Report noted. Outside the fantasy bout, there is still no word on who Manny Pacquiao’s next opponent would be. Terence Crawford was initially mentioned as the possible opponent but a relatively unknown fighter in Jeff Horn has suddenly come into play. Pacquiao admits that he doesn’t know the undefeated Australian welterweight but is open to a possible match.

The fact that Pacquiao is unfamiliar with Horn makes the Australian a dangerous opponent to face. Regardless, the boxer/ politician is ready for the challenge. Horn vowed he would defeat Pacquiao but the latter just shrugged it off saying previous opponents said the same thing. “He needs to prove that in the ring,” Pacquiao said via ESPN.
